I do like that I get a decent version of what other people (not Game Freak) would make, but I am somewhat left with an appetite for more… More polish, more audio, less cringe at times, and just more more more. In conclusion, I am enjoying Nexomon as a game, but in a way, I am not enjoying the fact of not seeing familiar faces. It is all the usual stuff for anyone that ever played a pokemon game. In the game, you are basically starting out to figure out what the Nexolord is up to, you do this by going from town to town to battle the overseers that are his friends/minions and beat the gym masters (overseers) and just advance the story. Return once again to classic monster catching and experience the complete Nexomon story with two epic adventures in one Battle and tame hundreds of Nexomon. Sure I had to figure out how these new critters performed, but the basic gist from pokemon is all there. Which side is right? That is for you to decide, I just enjoyed the new story available to me. Now, on the other hand, you got the purists that will say this game is basically a rip-off, which in all fairness, you can not unsee how similar the games are. Nexomon is just a little slower in its text, a little slower in moving from action to the next scene, … All coming down to basic polish of the game, but here I should mention I was not bothered so much when you hear the price.Ī full-priced Pokemon game versus a 10 euro clone that quite frankly feels and plays like the real thing, how does that compare in your head? I personally think we should be happy to get more pokemon like action and this without waiting years in between major games. Nexomon does sadly not have the fluid pokemon feeling, the only thing in my humble opinion setting them truly apart from each other. All sounding very familiar and well yeah, nothing new here, it looks like it and almost plays like it too. Yes, there are Nexomon centers for healing your critters, there are random battles and rustling bushes outside the cities and towns. Yes, it is a rip-off but at the same time, it is a really decent pokemon like game.īasically, let us approach this game from the tribute version first. Others call it a blatant rip-off and I can see how both sides are right.
